Thermage

Thermage is a safe, painless, non-surgical cosmetic procedure that is clinically proven to tighten and contour skin, with improvements in tone, contour, and texture occurring naturally through the stimulation of your own collagen.

Thermage is completely non-invasive: no surgery, no injections. A single treatment tightens your existing collagen and stimulates new collagen growth. Improvements are both immediately visible and continue up to six months. Results can last for years depending on your skin condition and aging process.

The Thermage procedure is available only in the offices of qualified physicians who specialize in cosmetic procedures. The procedure itself is normally done as a single treatment that takes from 20 minutes to two hours depending on the treatment area. What's more, there is no downtime, so you can quickly resume your normal routine.

Unlike lasers, Thermage works on all skin types and tones. And unlike injections or fillers, Thermage works on your entire face: forehead, eyes, nasolabial folds, jaw line, jowls and the area under your chin.

If you no longer recognize the face looking back at you in the mirror, it's time to talk to a certified Thermage physician and learn how Thermage can help you look as young as you feel.

Patient Testimonial Video Patient Education Video

How does Thermage work?

FDA cleared for the non-invasive treatment of wrinkles and rhytids. Side effects are generally mild and may include redness, swelling, blisters, bumps and rare instances of surface irregularities.

To understand how Thermage works, it helps to know a little about how your skin works.

The facial skin is made up of three distinct layers: a visible outer layer on the surface called the epidermis, a collagen-rich underlayer beneath the surface called the dermis, and an inner layer beneath the dermis called the subcutaneous layer, also known as the fat layer that has a web of collagen fibers running through it.

When the collagen in these three layers breaks down due to sun exposure, family heredity, or the normal aging process, your face begins to sag and wrinkle. Naturally, treatments that work on just the surface can't do anything to restore the collagen in the underlayer or the innerlayer of your skin.

Thermage is the only non-invasive procedure available that tightens and renews your skin's collagen in all three layers. How? Thermage's unique Capacitive Radiofrequency (CRF) technology safely heats your skin's underlayer and the web of collagen in the inner layer, causing an immediate tightening as well as improved tone and texture. And the improvements will continue and become even more noticeable for four to six months following treatment due to new collagen growth.

Thermage is safer than invasive cosmetic procedures. And unlike lasers, Thermage works on all skin types and colors. Best of all, you only need one Thermage treatment to obtain the full benefits, not three to five as you would with some laser therapies. And there is no downtime, so you can quickly resume your daily routine.

Procedures

Thermage treatments are only performed in a doctor's office by Thermage-certified personnel. Most doctors offer free consultations to determine if Thermage is right for you. Women 35-60 normally have the best and most predictable results. If your skin is too lax, the results will not be as dramatic.

Normally, the complete procedure can be performed in just one session lasting from 20 minutes to two hours, depending on the treatment area. General anesthesia is not required, but to make sure you are comfortable the doctor may offer light pain medications prior to treatment.

During the treatment, you'll feel a brief, heat sensation each time Thermage delivers radiofrequency energy to the underlayer of your skin. This indicates that your collagen is being stimulated and tightened.

After treatment, your skin may be slightly red for a day or two. But most people resume regular activities immediately after treatment, with no downtime or special follow-up care.

Immediate Results: You should feel and see your skin being smoother, firmer, and tighter immediately after your Thermage treatment. You may also notice some contouring effects which will begin enhancing the shape of your face.

Continued improvement over time: After the procedure, you should continue to see improvements to your skin as a result of the production of new and increased collagen, as well as some additional contouring effects due to continued tightening over time. These effects will continue for up to six months. You should see lasting results. Your results may vary depending on age and skin condition.

Medical Weight Loss

Our staff approaches your diet goals by helping you to lose weight by teaching you to change your eating habits, encouraging you to exercise and offering support to maximize the health benefits of weight reduction. Not only do we help you take the weight off, we help you keep it off!

Our programs are designed to be a safe route to weight loss and better health; it is an issue we do not compromise on. We have the experience, knowledge and medical staff that is only interested in one thing, helping you lose weight. We know that you can't maintain a diet that keeps you hungry, and most diets are too restrictive. We're specialists in helping people lose weight without making massive dietary changes. We create individual programs designed to meet your specific needs because we know one diet does not fit all.

We use these pharmaceutical tools to help our patients lose weight while they cope with their craving for food. Just taking a pill may make some weight disappear for a time, but if behavior modifications are not part of the treatment, the weight will return.

If your weight loss was not based on a program tailored to your lifestyle and personal needs, those pounds that you worked so hard to shed may come back to haunt you.

Prescription Therapy

These diet medications have been used successfully over the last twenty-five years and have yet to cause any serious problems. They stimulate adrenaline, which in turn stimulates the posterior pituitary to suppress the appetite.

Hebe MedSpa highly recommends before attempting any weight loss program that you seek medical clearance with your Physician. Physician supervision is always recommended helping to assess risk and chart your progress.

Helpful Tips

  1. Choose a plan that makes sense
Pick a program that focuses on strategies you can practice long-term.
  2. Get off to a strong start
Research has found that how well dieters do in the first 2-4 weeks predicts their success up to five years later.
  3. Make a plan
If you don't plan out what you're going to do, the world has a plan for you. Map out the first day of your week to get a strong start you can build on the rest of the week.
  4. Target your "easy wins"
Simple substitutions are often the easiest way to cut calories. Drinking a diet soda instead of a regular soda every day will save you 15 or more pounds in a year.
  5. Keep moving
Daily physical activity such as walking, along with healthy eating is key to long-term weight-loss success and maintenance.
  6. Track your progress
Food and exercise records help you stay accountable to your diet plan, reinforce your success, and give you valuable feedback on how to continue to build your skills.
  7. Drink fluids
It is important to stay hydrated, especially when you are losing weight, because your body will naturally lose some water. Make sure you drink at least eight 8 oz. glasses of non-caloric liquids per day.
  8. Don't go it alone
Research shows that people are often more successful when they lose weight with a friend or a group.

Body Mass Index

BMI or Body Mass Index is used by most obesity researchers to determine if an individual is at health risk from excess weight. BMI utilizes a simple calculation based on weight and height to assess healthy risk. A BMI greater than 25 correlates with the health risks associated with obesity; diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and certain cancers.

Photorejuvenation

The photorejuvenation via intense pulsed light (IPL) system produces a broad beam of highly concentrated light.  This light is filtered to a wavelength that is selectively absorbed by the target tissues with minimal effect on surrounding tissues.

This absorption produces heat, which in turn alters the undesirable target tissues.  The body's natural healing process then absorbs the affected tissue and allows for re-growth of healthy tissue.  The duration and energy of the light pulse are adjusted for your specific skin characteristics to achieve maximum benefit.  The target is usually abnormal pigmentation or small, unsightly blood vessels.

The smooth glass surface of the IPL hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied.  You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of small rubber band.  An anesthetic cream may be used, but seldom required.

BOTOX

Botox® Cosmetic is a purified protein.  It is a non-surgical, medically trained clinician administered treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in patients 18 to 65 years of age.

Botox is an injectable substance that blocks the chemicals that normally signal these muscle groups to contract.  It is administered with a topical anesthetic and a very tiny needle directly into the muscles that cause the lines and wrinkles.  The muscles are allowed to relax and your dynamic wrinkles begin to smooth away.  Botox® is used in a variety of medical conditions, including treatment of migraine and tension headache, chronic muscular pain, abnormal facial movements, tremors, and excessive sweating of the palms, soles of the feet, and underarms.

There can be some mild discomfort during a Botox® treatment that some people may describe as feeling like a mild bug bites.  Unlike surgery, Botox® is fast, simple, and minimally invasive, with no downtime or recovery.

According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's 2000 survey, Botox® Cosmetic is one of the least expensive facial aesthetic procedures ranking seventh of the nine most widely used procedures in the United States.

Indications

  • There have been no reports of damage to the eye or any permanent side effects from Botox® treatments.
  • On occasion, the Botox fluid can migrate to other muscles and cause weakness, which is temporary

CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical Peels have been used for over 100 years to create an even and controlled shedding of damaged skin cells. Each year thousands of chemical peels are performed in the United States. A chemical peel uses a solution or a combination of solutions applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of collagen, elastin, and new rejuvenated skin cells. It tightens the skin, reduces wrinkling and restores a more youthful appearance. Patients may experience a warm to hot sensation, and possibly a stinging sensation which may last as long as ten minutes.

Various types of chemicals and enzymes are used to remove the surface layers of the skin and reveal the fresh and rejuvenated layers below.  Chemical peels can treat fine lines, various blemishes, freckles, certain sun damage, and age spots.  In some cases chemical peels may even control acne and soften scars caused by acne. The peels create an improved aesthetic look resulting from reduced the appearance of wrinkles, more even skin coloration and an improved skin texture.  Superficial, medium or heavy peels all rejuvenate the skin by exfoliating the outermost epidermal layer and stimulating collagen formation in the underlying dermal layer. Because your skin is unique, chemical peel is customized for each client based on skin condition and desire result.
These exfoliation treatments accelerate the removal of damaged surface layers and minimize fine lines, sun spots and pigmentation to reveal softer smoother, healthier looking skin. Hebe Aestheticians are thoroughly trained by our Medical Practice Director to safely perform these medical grade peels.

  • AHA - This type of peel is for people who want smoother, brighter looking skin without any down time. Improves texture and balances pigmentation.
  • TCA - Trichloroacetic acid is use to treat skin with moderate sun damage, surface wrinkles and pigmentation.
  • BHA - This is the perfect peel for those suffering from Acne. Smooth and even skin tone and texture, while fighting acne.

Indications

  • Fine lines,
  • Rough and uneven skin pigmentation
  • Acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles
  • Age spots, brown spots
  • Large pores

Recommendation

  • Unique and customized peel

Post Treatment Results

  • Loosen debris from skin leaving a clean, fresh look.

Recovery Time

  • May experience light flaking or scaling of the skin and some redness or dryness, typically resolve within few days
  • Reactions to chemical peels are similar to a sunburn and range from mild to more pronounce. A light peel usually results in some redness, and possibly some scaling for a few days. Generally the deeper the peel, the longer the recovery. Following any skin peel, it is important that you avoid any exposure to the sun. Your skin is sensitive and susceptible to injury. Always apply a wide spectrum (UVA and UVB) blocking sunblock of at least SPF 15 twenty minutes before going outside. Your Esthetic Nurse Specialist will prescribe a proper home skin-care treatment and maintenance program to ensure proper healing and optimal results

Potential Complications

  • Uneven skin tone and permanent pigment changes
  • Infection and scarring are possible, but rare

ACNE TREATMENT

Acne is caused when a healthy hair follicle becomes blocked by skin cells that have not shed properly and have stuck together in the shaft of the hair follicle.  When this happens, the oil produced by the sebaceous gland and p. acne bacteria are no longer able to exit through the surface of the skin.  Inflammation occurs and acne is born.
We are dedicated and have developed a great regimen that combines the state-of-the-art FDA approved equipment through intense pulse light, chemical peels, facials, and medical-grade skin topical skin care products.
The initial phase of treatment, the intense light heat energy (LHE) of the laser will be performed to kill p.acne bacterial that cause active acne lesions.  The second phase, the sebaceous (oil-producing) glands are shrunk.  This cause the glands to produce less oil, there by preventing future outbreaks.
During these laser treatments the tip of the laser is passed over the skin, and you may feel a warm or tingling sensation.  Treatments normally last between fifteen minutes and one hour. The result is 80-90% clearance of acne after a series of eight treatments. There is no down time for this procedure.
In addition to laser treatments, periodic chemical peels and facial are recommended to ensure proper cleansing and exfoliation during treatment.  Medical strength skin care products such as cleanser, exfoliation cream, moisturizer, and sunscreen to ensure that the skin has the proper protection, cell turnover, and hydration to reduce acne.

MASSAGEs

Regular massage and energy work can make valuable contributions to building and maintaining overall health. It also improves body tone and circulation, relieve stress and strain, help boost the immune system, and promote both physical and psychological well being. Massage and related bodywork techniques can release painful muscle tension, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, and reduce mental and physical fatigue. In addition, massage is among the most effective means to combat stress.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a series of gentle strokes along the lymph vessels. This massage stimulates the healing process by improving the flow of lymph, and increasing the removal of waste products from the body

You will begin by filling out a health questionnaire. This will aid the massage therapist in deciding the best form of treatment and whether or not massage is appropriate.
Depending upon the type of massage and the areas being treated, you may or may not need to undress. For a full body massage, most people undress completely, though you will be encouraged to disrobe to whatever level you are comfortable with. Your massage therapist will give you privacy to undress, and you are covered during the treatment except for the area being worked on.

Make yourself comfortable. If your therapist wants you to adjust your position, she or he will either move you (for instance lifts your arm) or will tell you what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable.
Many people just close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It's your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.
Your comfort is our utmost concern here at Hebe MedSpa. Communicate your needs to your massage therapist at any point of the treatment. Whether it is temperature, pressure, music, or anything else, we want to know so that we can give you the best possible experience.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a technique, invented in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor, where medication is injected into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin. Over the past 50+ years, in excess of 15,000 physicians world-wide have used Mesotherapy on a daily basis for a variety of purposes, including weight loss, spot weight reduction, cellulite reduction, scar revision and wrinkle elimination. In 1987, the French Academy of Medicine recognized Mesotherapy as an inherent part of traditional medicine. The International Society of Mesotherapy encompasses 14 countries throughout Europe and South America.

Mesotherapy is a safe, non-surgical technique for weight loss, spot weight reduction, and for eliminating cellulite from heavy thighs, abdomen, hips and buttocks. Targeted areas can be reduced by melting fat under the skin. Cellulite is dramatically reduced using this method. The medication shrinks and breaks apart fat cells. It also disrupts the connections of the fat cells to each other. The fat cell remnants are then naturally flushed out of the body via the blood and lymph channels.

Mesotherapy is an injection procedure for cellulite and fat reduction that is currently the best non-surgical alternative available to liposuction. Mesotherapy has been in use for 50 years in France and has been widely embraced throughout Europe, Russia and, finally, here in the USA. A mixture of traditional medications, homeopathic remedies and vitamins specifically tailored to the area and condition being treated is injected into the skin.

Each mesotherapy session lasts about 30 minutes and you can usually go back to work or class immediately. A typical treatment course involves anywhere from 3 to 10 treatment sessions - it all depends on your preference, and the results are permanent! The best benefits are seen if the mesotherapy course is combined with our dietary and exercise recommendations. Mesotherapy is affordable, easy and quick. Unlike standard liposuction, mesotherapy involves minimal pain and bruising, there is no downtime and, most importantly, mesotherapy works!

In Mesotherapy, very small doses of different medications are administered in specific areas, depending on the condition being treated. All medicines used are FDA-approved for their use. In combination, medicines for Mesotherapy are used for off-label purposes. Using a very tiny needle (0.4 to 0.6 cm or the size of an eyelash), the medication is injected painlessly into the skin. The needles that we use are specially manufactured to deliver the medicine through the smallest possible diameter. Patients have universally responded that the treatments cause less pain than a momentary, light pinch.

All patients undergoing Mesotherapy will be asked to follow a low carbohydrate, low sugar, natural and healthy diet, which will be simple to implement. Because a considerable amount of toxins are going to be eliminated, lots of water is used to flush these substances, along with dissolved fat, out of the body. Exercise is needed to circulate the medications used. Patients can walk or perform another form of aerobic activity three times a week.

Cosmelan Depigmentation

Skin aging caused by systematic sun exposure such as blemishes on hands and face due to excessive pigmentation is one of the greatest aesthetic concerns of modern men and women today.  It will only be possible to remove the anti-aesthetic skin blemishes and recover the smoothness of the skin, bringing back its luminosity, with a treatment that has a direct effect on the intimate formation process of the pigment.

Cosmelan Depigmentation treatment is suitable for all skin types with a very high safety margin.  This mechanism is based on the inhibition of tyrosinase, a basic enzyme in the melanin formation process.  Several of the substances present in the Cosmelan formula act by blocking this enzyme, or even by inverting the metabolic process of the transformation chain.

Cosmelan Depigmentation treatment involves a very versatile, dynamic process which is easily adapted to the needs of each individual patient.  Depigmentation treatment offers a series of major advantages and benefits compared with other types of Depigmentation products found in the market:

  • Very efficient in all types of melasma
  • Rapid and easy depigmentation action
  • Compatible with ALL skin types (Fitzpatrick I-VI)
  • Light peeling effect
  • Treatment can be used all year round
  • Very effective for acne patients
  • No TCA
  • High safety margin
  • Rejuvenates the skin

JUST ONE WEEK after starting the Cosmelan Depigmentation treatment, a noticeable significant improvement of the skin is observed.  The reduction of the treated blemish is detected and the appearance of new luminous and rejuvenated skin is present.  In 99% of the cases the disappearance of the blemishes improved by 95%.

OFFICE TREATMENT

The clinician will thoroughly cleanse the surface of the skin by removing any dead cells and oily residues.  A facial mask will be applied to the patient over the surface of the skin.  The time required for the cream to act completely will be determined based on the patient's skin type.

HOME TREATMENT

The depigmentation treatment is then followed by the Cosmelan 2 Cream.  This guarantees the permanence of the initial depigmenting treatment, favoring the disappearance of blemishes of melanic origin.  It is indicated for treatment mixed and oily skins.  Cosmelan 2 cream is applied to the entire area of the skin to be treated, twice a day for the initial two weeks, and once a day for the following 6 months.
